Our Story

My Upholstery Guys — Fort Worth
Upholstery Shop Since 2011

Started in Fort Worth with a simple premise: do the work right, in-house, with materials appropriate for the application. Fifteen-plus years later, that's still the entire model.

How We Started

My Upholstery Guys opened in Fort Worth in 2011 with a focus on auto and marine upholstery — the categories where material specification and craftsmanship create the most visible difference between a shop that knows what it's doing and one that doesn't. We built the business on in-shop work from the start: no outsourcing, no subcontracting, every project handled by the same team. That model hasn't changed. We've expanded the services we offer, but the work still happens in the same shop.

The Shop Today

We're at 6925 E Lancaster Ave, Suite B in Fort Worth — same area, same team, larger capability. We work on auto interiors, boat and pontoon seating, motorcycle seats, RV interiors, residential furniture, and commercial fleet seating. The scope has grown because the same principles apply across all of it: right materials, right foam, right construction, done in-shop. We don't accept jobs we can't do well. If a project isn't something we handle, we'll tell you rather than take it and figure it out at your expense.

What Sets Our Shop Apart

Every project at My Upholstery Guys is assessed at drop-off before any work starts. We inspect the underlying structure — frame condition on furniture, foam density on RV cushions, substrate integrity on auto panels — and quote what's actually needed. We don't re-cover bad foundations with new fabric. That's how you end up with something that looks right for six months and then fails. We tell you honestly whether the project makes sense before you spend money on it.

The Team

Who Runs My Upholstery Guys

Two people who've been in the upholstery business long enough to know what matters and what doesn't. The same ownership that started the shop is still running it.

Tariq Hashi

Owner

Tony has been running My Upholstery Guys since the beginning. He sets the standard for how work gets done in the shop — material specification, construction method, and the honesty-at-assessment policy that the shop is known for. He's the person you're likely to talk to when you call about a project.

Milton Lugo

CEO

Milton oversees operations and manages the commercial side of the business — fleet accounts, phased projects, and the ongoing client relationships that keep the shop running at consistent quality across a high volume of work. He makes sure what gets promised gets delivered on schedule.

How We Work

What Every Project Gets —
No Exceptions

These aren't marketing bullets. They're the actual standards we hold every project to — and the reasons clients bring projects back after the first one.

01

Honest Assessment First

Every piece gets inspected at drop-off before any work starts. If it's not worth recovering — bad frame, failing foam substrate, or construction that won't hold — we say so. We don't take jobs we'll be embarrassed by in six months.

02

Right Material for the Job

Commercial seating doesn't get residential vinyl. Boat seats don't get fabric rated for indoor use. Marine interiors don't get foam that absorbs moisture. Material specification is what separates work that holds up from work that looks good for a season.

03

Written Quote, No Surprises

The quote you get before drop-off is the number you pay. Structural repairs found during the work are quoted separately before proceeding — we don't add charges after the fact without your approval. No assumptions, no hidden adds.

04

In-Shop, Every Project

Every project is done in-house at 6925 E Lancaster Ave. We don't outsource to other shops or subcontract parts of the work. One team, one standard, consistent results. You know who did the work when you pick it up.

05

Pickup Date We Actually Hit

When we give you a pickup date, we hit it or we call before the date with an update. We don't let projects sit and make you chase us. Commercial and fleet accounts get scheduled to minimize operational disruption — batch turnaround is predictable.

06

Care Instructions at Pickup

We spend five minutes at pickup walking through how to clean the material and what to avoid. New fabric on a good frame can last 10–15 years with the right care. We'd rather take that time than see the piece come back in a year with an avoidable stain set in.
