Your RV's interior takes a beating. Years of road vibration, UV exposure through every window, pets, spills, and the simple wear of living in a space that moves — eventually, even the best-built motorhome interior shows its age. At My Upholstery Guys, we restore RV interiors across Fort Worth and the entire DFW metroplex with the same craftsmanship we bring to every project: no shortcuts, no filler materials, no work we wouldn't put in our own rig.
Whether you're dealing with cracked vinyl on your captain's chairs, collapsed dinette cushions, a headliner that's coming loose, or an entire interior you want refreshed before a long trip, we handle it all in-shop with custom fabric options and a process built around getting it right the first time.
Your RV is your home away from home, and its interior should deliver the comfort and style you deserve on the road. Over time, RV upholstery suffers from constant use, UV exposure through large windows, temperature fluctuations, and the unique stresses of mobile living. Faded dinette cushions, worn captain's chairs, torn bed surrounds, and outdated fabrics diminish your travel experience. My Upholstery Guys specializes in RV and motorhome upholstery restoration that transforms tired interiors into spaces you'll actually want to spend time in. Our Fort Worth shop serves RV owners throughout the DFW metroplex with quality craftsmanship and materials specifically suited for the RV environment.
RVs present unique upholstery challenges — custom sizes and configurations that make finding replacements difficult, weight considerations where lighter materials improve fuel efficiency, space constraints requiring creative solutions, and multi-functional furniture that must withstand heavy use. Our RV upholstery specialists work with all types of recreational vehicles including Class A motorhomes, Class B camper vans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, and truck campers.

RV dinettes serve as dining areas, workspaces, and often convert to sleeping areas — making them the highest-use furniture in the rig. We replace foam with high-density commercial-grade material cut to your exact dimensions, cover it in your choice of fabric or vinyl, and sew every seam in-shop. We also recover seat and back cushions, repair or reinforce cushion foundations, and recover or create new decorative throw pillows. No gaps, no bunching, no pre-made covers stretched to fit.
Driver and passenger seats in motorhomes take the full weight of driving hours and the UV punishment of sitting directly behind glass — they're almost always the first surface to show serious wear. We provide complete reupholstery of captain's chairs, vinyl and leather replacement, foam replacement with density matched to your specific driving pattern, repair of seat mechanisms and adjustments, and full armrest and headrest restoration. Comfortable cab seating makes a measurable difference in driving fatigue on long trips.

Overhead bunks, rear bedroom cushions, mattress surrounds, headboards, and bed platform upholstery all become worn and dated faster than the frame beneath them. We cut replacement foam and new covers to the exact profile of your unit — not approximate. We address bed platform and base reupholstery, headboard recovering or custom fabrication, mattress surround panels, and built-in pillow or cushion recovering. Factory sleeping area foam is almost always low-density and compresses within a season of regular use. We match density to how the space is actually used.
RV interiors feature unique built-in furniture that requires custom approaches and accounts for mechanical function. We restore built-in sofas and couches, jackknife sofas and sofa sleepers including mechanism inspection, booth seating and banquettes, recliners and lounge chairs, slide-out room seating where we account for the compression and wear patterns specific to slide mechanisms, ottoman and storage cushions, and bay window seat cushions. Full reupholstery with in-shop fabrication on every piece.

Every restoration starts with a fabric selection consultation. We carry vinyl, automotive-grade fabric, marine-grade vinyl for high-UV surfaces, leather, ultra-leather and synthetic leather, microfiber and microsuede, and outdoor performance fabrics. We advise on what holds up best for your specific use — full-timers get different recommendations than seasonal users. We also create custom RV curtains and drapes, valances that coordinate with your upholstery, day/night shade coverings, and Roman shades or other custom window solutions. Coordinated window treatments tie the interior together and extend the life of your upholstery by limiting UV penetration.
Beyond the captain's chairs, the full cab area restoration includes door panel reupholstery, overhead headliner work in Class C motorhomes — re-glued, re-covered, or fully replaced depending on condition — dashboard and console padding, sun visor recovering, and entry step upholstery and door panels. These are the details that make a restoration look complete instead of partial. If it's upholstered and it's inside your RV, we work on it.

Most factory RV upholstery is built for price point, not longevity. The foam they use compresses quickly. The vinyl cracks under UV exposure. The stitching on seams gives out long before the frame does. That's not a defect — it's a deliberate manufacturing tradeoff. RV manufacturers know owners replace the furniture long before they replace the rig.
When you reupholster with quality materials, you're building something that outlasts factory spec by years. We use commercial-grade foam selected for the specific load and use pattern of each piece, marine-grade vinyl on surfaces that see direct sun, and automotive-grade fabric where durability and appearance both matter.
Weight considerations matter too — every pound affects handling and fuel economy in a motorhome. We select appropriately weighted materials that provide durability without unnecessary bulk.
Color and pattern selection dramatically impacts interior ambiance. Light colors make small spaces feel larger and brighter. Darker colors hide soil better for practical travel use. Patterns can disguise minor wear and add visual interest. We guide you through selections that achieve your aesthetic goals while meeting the practical demands of RV life.
Foam options include high-density foam that resists compression for long-lasting comfort, lighter-weight foam to minimize added weight where appropriate, antimicrobial foam treatments to prevent odors and mildew in enclosed spaces, and custom firmness options matched to sleeping versus seating applications.
One of the most common questions we get — and one of the most important things you can do to extend the life of your interior before it needs restoration.
For vinyl surfaces: Use a dedicated vinyl cleaner or a mild dish soap solution with a microfiber cloth. Avoid anything petroleum-based — it degrades the plasticizers in vinyl and accelerates cracking. Dry completely after cleaning; moisture trapped in seams breeds mildew in an enclosed RV.
For fabric upholstery: A foam upholstery cleaner applied lightly and blotted — never scrubbed — keeps fabric looking fresh. For heavier soiling, a handheld steam cleaner works well on most upholstery fabrics without saturating the foam underneath.
For leather: Leather conditioner every 90 days minimum. RVs are harder on leather than homes because of the temperature swings — a rig sitting in a Texas summer reaches interior temperatures that dry and crack leather fast. Conditioned leather resists that.
Water spots on RV overhead upholstery — headliners especially — are one of the trickier cleaning problems because the material is often thin and glued rather than structurally attached.
The right approach: Mix equal parts white vinegar and distilled water. Apply lightly with a barely-damp microfiber — you want the surface damp, not wet. Work in a circular motion from the outside of the stain inward. Blot dry immediately with a clean cloth. Do not oversaturate; excess moisture will loosen the adhesive holding the headliner to the backing board.
If the spot is from a roof leak rather than condensation, the headliner may need to be replaced rather than cleaned — water that has soaked through typically leaves a mineral stain that cleaning cannot fully remove. If you're seeing recurring spots in the same area, the source is still active and needs to be addressed before any upholstery work.
Every RV is unique, and we excel at custom solutions for unusual spaces and modified layouts. We can create custom cushions for renovated configurations, fabricate new furniture for full interior overhauls, design multi-functional pieces that serve several purposes in tight spaces, and create cushions and upholstery for RV expansion areas. If you're renovating or fully customizing your RV, we can create the upholstery elements that bring your vision to life with materials and construction built for the road.
Our RV upholstery process accommodates the unique logistics of working with recreational vehicles. For many projects, you can remove cushions and bring them to our Fort Worth shop, eliminating the need to bring your entire RV. For larger projects or built-in upholstery, we can discuss options including working at your location for certain situations or having you bring your RV to our facility if space al lows. We create templates ensuring perfect fit for custom RV dimensions, recommend appropriate materials for RV applications, complete all upholstery work at our shop with full quality control, and return completed items ready for installation.
We inspect every surface you want addressed, check foam condition, assess fabric and vinyl wear, look at structural integrity on seat frames and dinette bases, and give you an honest assessment of what needs attention and what can wait.
You receive a detailed written estimate before any work begins. No surprises at pickup. If we open something up during the job and find an issue we didn't anticipate, we call you before we proceed.
We bring out the samples. You choose your material — vinyl, fabric, leather, or a combination — and we advise on what holds up best for your specific use pattern. Full-time RVers get different recommendations than seasonal users.
We fully disassemble the pieces being restored, inspect internal components, replace foam to spec, and rebuild the structure where needed before any fabric goes on.
Every cover is cut and sewn in-shop. We don't order pre-made covers and stretch them to fit. Custom fabrication means the finished product looks like it came from the factory — or better.
Every piece goes through a final inspection before it goes back in your rig. Seams, corners, tension, alignment — we check all of it before you see it.

If you're traveling through and working around a departure date, call us first — we work with a lot of travelers and can often accommodate scheduling around your route.
RV upholstery costs vary based on the number of pieces, size, and materials selected. As general guidance, dinette cushions typically cost $400–$800 for a complete set, captain's chair reupholstery runs $400–$800 per chair, sleeping area upholstery costs $300–$600, and complete RV interior restoration runs $2,000–$5,000+ depending on RV size and scope. We provide free detailed estimates after assessing your specific RV and needs.
For many projects you can remove cushions and furniture components and bring only those items to our shop — much more convenient than bringing the full rig. We provide guidance on removal if needed. For built-in upholstery that can't be easily removed, we can discuss options based on your specific situation.
In some cases yes, especially if your upholstery is relatively recent. However, many RV fabrics are proprietary to the manufacturer and not available for retail purchase. In most cases we recommend selecting coordinating fabrics that complement your existing colors and decor — which often provides an opportunity to update with fresh, modern styling while maintaining a cohesive appearance.
Most single-piece jobs — a sofa, a dinette set, or a pair of captain's chairs — are completed in 3 to 5 business days. Full interior restorations run 2 to 3 weeks depending on scope and fabric lead times. We give you a timeline estimate at the assessment so you can plan around it.
Quality RV upholstery using appropriate materials should last 7–15+ years with normal use and proper care — significantly longer than factory spec. Lifespan depends on use frequency, UV exposure, climate control, and maintenance habits. Using window treatments to limit sun exposure and keeping the rig climate controlled during storage significantly extends upholstery life.
Factory RV foam is typically low-density — it feels fine when new and compresses significantly within a few years. We use medium to high-density foam selected for the specific piece and its use pattern. A captain's chair that sees 8 hours of driving per day gets different foam than a sofa used primarily for lounging. Getting the foam right is what makes the restoration feel like an upgrade, not just a replacement.
The best RV fabrics offer durability, UV resistance, stain resistance, and easy cleaning. For cab seats with high sun exposure, marine-grade vinyl is the strongest performer. For fabric surfaces in the living area, performance textiles with stain resistance matched to your use pattern are the right call. During consultation we discuss whether you travel with pets, children, or in dusty conditions and recommend accordingly. We avoid delicate or high-maintenance fabrics that aren't practical for RV life.
If the frame is solid — and most RV furniture frames are — reupholstery wins almost every time. You get better materials than the replacement piece will come with, exact fit for your space, fabric you actually chose, and a fraction of the cost. Replacement furniture also means removing and reinstalling — our work goes back in the same anchor points with no modification to your rig.
