Antique & Classic Car
Upholstery Fort Worth

Period-correct restoration for antique and classic cars. We source the right materials, replicate the original stitching, and rebuild interiors to factory-or-better standard — not a modern approximation of what the car used to be.

Period-Correct Restoration —
Factory-or-Better, Not Just Close Enough

Classic car upholstery work done wrong looks wrong — the wrong vinyl weight, the wrong stitching pattern, the wrong color shade. We work to the original spec or better, not to whatever modern material happens to be convenient.

Our Standard for Classic Car Work

Every antique and classic car project starts with documentation — we photograph the original panels, seats, stitching pattern, and hardware before anything is removed. Where factory documentation exists for the specific year and model, we use it. Where it doesn't, we source period references. The result we're after is a rebuild that matches what the car left the factory with — or exceeds it where the original materials have better modern equivalents. Our auto upholstery shop handles both classic restoration and modern vehicle work on the same floor, under the same team.

What Classic Car Upholstery Includes

A full classic car interior restoration can include seat reupholstery, door panel replacement, headliner restoration, carpet replacement, and convertible top work depending on the vehicle. We handle each surface with the same approach: source the period-correct material first, then build to that standard. We also work on partial restorations — a single seat, one door panel, or a headliner that's failed while the rest of the interior is still solid.

Vintage Car Interior Restoration — Who This Is For

This service is for car owners who are serious about the result. Muscle cars, classics, vintage imports, and original-condition antiques that need interiors rebuilt the right way. If you want a quick patch to hold until you sell the car, we're probably not the right call. If you want the interior done correctly — with classic car leather in the right grade, matching original stitching, and trim that fits like factory — bring it in.

In-shop only — bring the car to 6925 E Lancaster Ave, Suite B, Fort Worth TX 76112. Mon–Fri 7AM–5PM, Sat 7AM–4PM. Call (817) 623-0589 first to describe the vehicle and what you're looking to accomplish before making the trip.

Classic Car Upholstery Services

Classic Car Seat Reupholstery & Interior
Restoration — What We Do

Classic car upholstery covers a range of surfaces and services. Here's what we handle and how we approach each one.

Classic Car Seat Reupholstery

Full disassembly of the original seat, foam assessment and replacement where needed, and new upholstery in period-correct material. We document the original stitching pattern before disassembly and replicate it on the rebuild. Bench seats, bucket seats, split benches, and convertible seat assemblies — all handled in-shop.

Antique Car Interior Restoration

Comprehensive interior restoration covering seats, door panels, headliner, carpet, and convertible tops on antique vehicles (pre-1980). We source materials by year and model — not by what's easiest to get — and work to factory spec where documentation supports it. Condition assessment included before any quote is issued.

Vintage Car Door Panels

Door panel restoration and replacement for vintage vehicles — from simple re-covering of existing backing to full panel rebuilds where the original panel has deteriorated beyond reuse. We match the original vinyl or cloth pattern, reproduce the correct trim inserts, and install replacement armrest pads and pulls where factory parts are unavailable.

Vintage Car Upholstery — Headliners

Headliner replacement on classic cars requires careful board prep, correct backing material selection, and correct grain direction. We work with original headliner cloth patterns where available and period-matched material where originals are discontinued. The result sits flat, seams properly at the quarter panels and windshield header, and lasts.

Period-Correct Materials & Stitching

Diamond tuck, pleated, straight-panel, and other factory stitching patterns reproduced to original dimensions. Thread weight, stitch count, and layout are documented from the original before disassembly. Material sourcing includes period-grade vinyl, cloth, wool blends, and leather — we do not substitute a modern material when the correct period material is available.

Classic Car Convertible Tops

Convertible top replacement and repair for classic and antique vehicles. Classic convertibles have unique frame hardware and bow configurations — we assess the frame condition before recommending material and handle any prep work before installation. Period-correct vinyl and canvas top materials stocked for common American classic convertibles. Full soft top work connects to our dedicated convertible top replacement service.

Our Approach

How We Handle Classic Car Upholstery
Restoration in Fort Worth

Period-correct work requires more upfront process than a standard reupholstery job. Here's what the project involves from first contact to pickup.

1

Initial Consultation

Call (817) 623-0589 and describe the vehicle — year, make, model, what the interior currently looks like, and what you're trying to accomplish. For complex or full restorations, we ask that you bring the car in before we quote anything. Condition cannot be assessed from photos for work at this level.

2

Documentation & Assessment

Before anything is disassembled, we photograph and document the original panels, seats, stitching patterns, hardware, and trim pieces. This documentation drives the rebuild. We assess material condition, foam state, and frame or board integrity — then issue a written quote with scope, materials, and timeline. No work starts until you've seen and approved the quote.

3

Material Sourcing

Period-correct restoration starts with sourcing. We identify the correct vinyl grade, cloth pattern, leather spec, or wool blend for the year and model — then confirm availability before committing to a start date. If a specific material requires lead time, that's factored into the timeline we quote. We do not start with a substitute and hope the correct material arrives later.

4

In-Shop Build & Walkthrough

All work is done in-shop at 6925 E Lancaster Ave, Suite B. The rebuild follows the documentation from step 2 — stitching pattern, seam placement, and trim alignment all checked against the original photos before installation. When the car is ready, we walk you through everything before you take delivery. If something isn't right, we correct it before you leave.

Common Questions

Classic Car Upholstery FAQ —
Fort Worth

Do you restore antique car interiors to factory original spec?

Yes. For antique and classic car work, our standard is period-correct to factory-or-better. We source materials that match the original spec — correct vinyl or cloth grade, correct color, correct stitching pattern — not a modern substitute. Where factory documentation exists, we use it. Where it doesn't, we source period references before quoting.

What classic car upholstery work do you do in Fort Worth?

Classic car seat reupholstery, door panel replacement, headliner restoration, carpet replacement, convertible top replacement, and dashboard pad restoration. We work with period-correct materials — vinyl, cloth, wool blends, and leather by year and make — and replicate original stitching patterns where they're part of the car's character. All work in-shop at 6925 E Lancaster Ave, Suite B, Fort Worth TX 76112.

Can you match the original stitching pattern on my classic car seats?

Yes. We photograph, measure, and document the existing pattern before disassembly so the rebuild matches in stitch count, thread weight, and layout — not just shape. Diamond tuck, pleated, straight-panel, and other factory patterns are reproduced as closely as the original allows. Stitching pattern matching is part of what period-correct means to us, not an add-on.

Do you work on vintage cars from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s?

Yes. We regularly work on vehicles from the 1930s through the 1980s — classic American muscle cars, full-size GM, Mopar, and Ford vehicles, vintage imports, and custom builds. The older the car, the more the assessment matters: original hardware condition, deteriorated foam, and discontinued OEM materials all factor into how we approach the job. Call (817) 623-0589 to describe the vehicle before bringing it in.

What materials do you use for classic car upholstery restoration?

Material selection depends on what was factory-correct for the specific year and model. We source period-appropriate vinyl, cloth, wool blends, and leather in grades that match or exceed original specs. We do not default to modern substitutes when the correct period material is available. For custom classic builds where you want an upgrade over factory, we walk through options — but the baseline is always period-correct unless you choose otherwise.

How long does classic car upholstery restoration take?

Timeline depends on scope and material sourcing. A single seat repair or reupholstery on a documented vehicle with available materials: typically 2–5 days. Full interior restoration — seats, door panels, headliner, carpet, and convertible top — is a multi-week project. We confirm a realistic timeline before work begins and don't compress a restoration job to hit an arbitrary deadline. Call (817) 623-0589 for a project consultation.
