Custom Auto Upholstery in Fort Worth

Your Interior, Your Spec —
Built by the Same Shop That Fixes Daily Drivers

Custom upholstery isn't a separate department. The craftsmen who do repair and standard Fort Worth auto upholstery work are the same people who build two-tone seats and custom leather interiors. The materials are automotive-grade, the stitching is production-quality, and the design conversation starts with what you actually want — not with a menu of packages.

Custom vs. Standard Reupholstery — The Difference

Standard reupholstery means replacing worn or damaged material to match the factory spec as closely as possible — same color, same material type, same stitching pattern. If you want the seat to look the way it did new, that's reupholstery. Custom upholstery means choosing your own direction: different colors, material combinations, panel layouts, stitching patterns, or a completely different aesthetic. If you want something the factory never offered, that's custom. For seats that need repair rather than redesign, see our car seat reupholstery service.

What We Work With

Premium leather, perforated leather, nubuck, leather-trimmed vinyl, automotive suede (Alcantara-style materials), and high-quality automotive vinyl — all sourced to automotive grade, rated for Texas UV exposure and heat cycles. We don't use furniture-grade materials in automotive applications. Material selection is part of the design consultation — we walk you through what's available in the colors and textures that match your direction before any cutting starts.

Exotic and Luxury Vehicle Work

Custom interior work on exotic and luxury vehicles — where the material quality, color accuracy, and stitching precision matter at a different level — is something we handle. For exotic car upholstery specifically, call ahead to describe the vehicle and the direction. These projects require more lead time for material sourcing and a more detailed design consultation before we schedule.

In-shop only — bring the vehicle to 6925 E Lancaster Ave, Suite B, Fort Worth TX 76112. Mon–Fri 7AM–5PM, Sat 7AM–4PM. Call (817) 623-0589 to describe your direction before the visit.

What We Build

Custom Car Upholstery Options —
Two-Tone, Color Match, Full Custom

Most custom upholstery requests fall into one of three categories — or combine them. If you're not sure which fits your project, call (817) 623-0589 and describe what you have in mind. If you need isolated leather damage repaired rather than redesigned, our leather seat repair service covers that.

Option 01

Two-Tone Car Seats
Fort Worth

Two-tone seat design is the most common custom request — a contrasting color or material on the center seat insert versus the bolsters, or a different material combination between the seating surface and the side panels. The result can range from subtle (same material family, slightly different shade) to high-contrast (black bolster, white or tan insert, colored stitching).

The design conversation starts with which surfaces you want in which material, and what the transition between them looks like. We can also add contrast stitching — thread in a contrasting color that runs the seam lines — which is one of the most visible differentiators in a custom interior at the lowest additional complexity.

  • Bolster vs. insert — different color or material between the side bolsters and the center seating surface
  • Front vs. rear — different color treatment between front bucket seats and rear bench
  • Material combinations — leather bolster with suede insert, vinyl with perforated leather center, etc.
  • Contrast stitching — colored thread on seam lines: diamond, straight, or sport stitch patterns

Common Two-Tone Configurations

Classic Black bolster · Tan or cream insert · Black stitching
Sport Black leather · Red or gray suede insert · Contrast stitching
Truck Black vinyl bolster · Custom color insert · Heavy-duty thread
Luxury Perforated leather · Solid leather bolster · Matched stitching
Show Custom color combination matched to exterior or interior trim

Option 02

Custom Color Match
Car Interior

Color-matched custom upholstery means building the interior to a specific color target — matching a paint color, an exterior trim piece, a reference fabric swatch, or an interior accent. It's more involved than two-tone work because the material sourcing has to produce the right color before any cutting starts.

We work from a reference — a paint chip, a swatch, a photo with a specific reference point — and source automotive-grade material in the closest available match. For exact matches to custom paint colors, we're honest about what's achievable in automotive vinyl and leather stock versus what requires a custom-dyed material, which adds time and cost. We tell you which category your color falls into during the consultation.

  • Paint-matched interiors — interior color sourced to match the vehicle's exterior or accent paint
  • Brand color schemes — specific color palettes for brand-coordinated builds
  • Reference-matched — material matched to an existing interior piece, a trim color, or a design spec
  • Tone-on-tone — different materials in the same color family for texture contrast without color contrast

Color Match Process

Step 1 You provide a color reference — paint chip, swatch, or specific color code
Step 2 We identify closest available automotive-grade material match
Step 3 Material sample shown for approval before any cutting
Step 4 Material ordered and confirmed in-shop before scheduling
Lead Time Longer than standard — depends on material sourcing timeline

Option 03

Full Custom
Car Interior

A full custom interior reskin means every upholstered surface in the vehicle — seats, door panels, center console, headliner, armrests — redone in a cohesive custom material and color scheme. This is the scope that takes the interior from stock to something the factory never offered and gives a vehicle a completely individual interior character.

Full custom projects start with a more detailed design consultation. We work through which surfaces are being redone, what material and color treatment applies to each, and where transitions happen. The design conversation typically takes longer than the quoting — we want to understand what you're building toward, not just spec out individual panels. Call (817) 623-0589 before bringing the vehicle in for a project of this scope.

  • All seats — front and rear in coordinated custom spec
  • Door panels — custom inserts, padded sections, and pull handles to match
  • Center console — armrest and panel surfaces in the custom material scheme
  • Headliner — color or material change from stock, including suede or custom fabric options
  • Dash and trim accents — wrapped accent panels where applicable

Full Custom Project Scope

Seats Front buckets + rear bench in custom spec
Door Panels Insert panels, armrests, and pulls matched to interior scheme
Console Center console armrest and panel surfaces
Headliner Custom fabric or suede option available
Timeline Project-dependent — confirmed after design consultation

How It Works

How Custom Auto Upholstery Works
at Our Fort Worth Shop

Custom work has a longer design phase than repair or standard reupholstery. Here's what the process looks like from first call to pickup.

1

Design Consultation

Call (817) 623-0589 to describe your direction before bringing the vehicle in. For two-tone and color-match projects, a description or reference photo helps us confirm material availability. For full custom interior builds, the initial call is where we scope the project before scheduling an in-person consultation.

2

In-Shop Design and Material Selection

We look at the vehicle, walk through the design with you, and pull material samples in your target colors and textures. You approve the material before any cutting starts. For color-match projects, this step may include a material sourcing period between consultation and scheduling — we confirm the material is in-hand before the appointment.

3

In-Shop Build

All work is done in-shop by our Fort Worth team. Custom builds involve more pattern work and panel fitting than standard reupholstery — each panel is cut and test-fitted before final stitching. We don't subcontract custom work. The same craftsmen who do the design consultation do the build.

4

Review and Pickup

We walk you through the finished interior in full before pickup — every seam, every panel, every stitching line. Custom work is reviewed against your approved design spec. If anything isn't right before you leave, it gets addressed. We don't call work done until the customer has seen it and confirmed it matches the spec.

Common Questions

Custom Auto Upholstery FAQ —
Fort Worth

What does custom auto upholstery include?

Custom auto upholstery covers any seat design that departs from the factory spec — two-tone layouts, custom material selection (premium leather, suede inserts, color-matched vinyl), contrast stitching, embossed panels, and full interior reskins. We work from your specifications and can help develop a design if you have a direction but not a final layout. All work is done in-shop at 6925 E Lancaster Ave, Suite B, Fort Worth.

Can you do two-tone car seats in Fort Worth?

Yes. Two-tone seat designs — a contrasting color or material on the center insert versus the bolster, or a different material combination between sections — are one of the most common custom requests we handle. The design conversation starts with which surfaces you want in which material, and we work from there. Bring the vehicle in or call (817) 623-0589 to describe what you have in mind.

Can you match a specific color for custom car seats?

Yes — we source materials to match a target color when the spec is clear. For a color that matches a specific paint color, an exterior trim piece, or a reference sample, we work from that reference to find the closest automotive-grade material match. Custom color work requires more lead time than standard replacement — we confirm material availability before scheduling the build.

Do you do full custom car interiors or just seats?

We work on all upholstered interior surfaces — seats, door panels, headliners, center consoles, armrests. A full interior reskin in a custom material or color scheme is work we handle. Most projects start with the seats as the highest-visibility surface and expand from there based on what the customer wants to achieve.

What is the difference between custom upholstery and standard reupholstery?

Standard reupholstery means replacing worn or damaged material to match the factory spec — same color, same material type, same stitching. If you want the seat to look the way it did new, that's reupholstery. Custom upholstery means choosing your own design direction — different colors, material combinations, stitching patterns, panel layouts, or a different aesthetic entirely. We do both. Call if you're unsure which fits your situation.

How long does custom auto upholstery take?

Timeline varies by project scope. A two-tone seat set typically takes 3–5 days. A full interior reskin across multiple surfaces takes longer — we give you a confirmed timeline after the design consultation and material sourcing confirmation. Custom work requires more lead time than standard reupholstery because materials may need to be ordered and the design is developed before work begins.
