Custom Fabrication · Fort Worth, TX
Off-the-shelf saddle bags are built for the average bike and the average rider. If you're running a custom build, trying to match an existing seat, or just want something that doesn't look like every other set on the road — you're in the right place.
A Natural Extension of Our Seat Work
My Upholstery Guys already builds custom motorcycle seats. Saddle bags are built from the same materials, in the same shop, with the same stitching standards. If you've had a seat built here — or are considering one — we can build the bags to match in a single order.
Every Project Is a Custom Order
We don't carry standard sizes. You tell us the dimensions, the material, the closure style, and the hardware finish. We build to spec. Bring measurements and reference photos, or bring the bike and we'll figure it out together.
Local Drop-Off or Ship Nationwide
Fort Worth and DFW riders can drop the bike off for a hands-on consult. Not local? We build for riders across the country — you send the specs, we build and ship back. Same quality either way.
Not sure what you need? Call us at (817) 623-0589 with a description of your bike and setup. We'll tell you what's possible before you make the trip.
Built for the Road
Texas heat, highway UV, and the occasional downpour are hard on leather that wasn't built for it. We source the same leathers and heavy-duty vinyls we use across our automotive, marine, and motorcycle seat work — chosen specifically for durability in real conditions.
Full-Grain Leather
PremiumThe most premium option. Full-grain leather develops a patina over time, holds up to heavy use, and builds character the longer you ride. Best for custom builds where aesthetics and longevity both matter. Requires more care than corrected-grain options.
Top-Grain Leather
Most PopularClean, consistent surface. Easier to maintain than full-grain and nearly as durable. The most popular choice for riders who want a sharp look without demanding upkeep. Holds color and finish well under direct sun and heat exposure.
Heavy-Duty Vinyl
WaterproofWaterproof from day one. Enormous range of colors, textures, and embossed finishes. Cost-effective for large panels and the right call for riders who prioritize weather resistance or want a specific look that's difficult to achieve in natural leather.
Hardware
Your ChoiceSolid brass, chrome, and antique bronze buckles, D-rings, and zipper pulls. YKK zippers standard. Flush-mount closures available. You choose the finish — or we match what's already on your bike. Customer-supplied hardware accepted in most cases.
Your Build, Your Specs
Every saddle bag project starts with a custom brief. Here's what you can specify — or we'll walk you through the options during your consult.
Shape & Dimensions
Hard-mount, throw-over, or swing-arm style. Specify width, depth, and height to clear your frame and fit your mounting hardware. We build to your measurements, not ours.
Closure Style
Buckle strap, top-zip, side-zip, snap, or combination closures. Multiple closure options can be incorporated into a single bag design if your setup calls for it.
Stitching
Diamond stitch, flat stitch, moccasin welt, or saddle stitch. Single or double-needle. Contrast thread available — match or intentionally offset against your base material.
Color Matching
Bring in your seat — or photos of it — and we'll build the bags to coordinate. Two-tone builds, contrast panels, and piping accents are all available on custom orders.
Tooling & Embossing
Available on leather builds. Floral, geometric, or custom patterns tooled directly into the leather panel. Bring the design and we'll tell you what's achievable.
Interior Lining
Suede, felt, or utility-grade liner. Padded lining available for bags that'll carry electronics, tools, or anything that needs protection from road vibration.
If you're commissioning a new seat or already had one built by us, we can build your bags to match — same material batch, same thread, same hardware finish. The result is a set that looks like it came off the factory floor together, not two separate shops.
Bring your seat in alongside the bag project for the best color and material match. If your seat was built elsewhere, bring it in and we'll source materials as close as the supply allows.
We also do full seat + bags commissions in one order — single consult, single timeline, built together from the same material run. One appointment handles everything.
Already have a seat in mind? Call (817) 623-0589 and we'll set up a combined seat + bags build in a single appointment.
Not Local? No Problem.
Saddle bags ship easily, and we build for riders who aren't in Fort Worth. Send us your specs, we build and ship back. Same process, same quality — no matter where you're riding from.
Contact Us With Your Project
Send photos of your bike and existing seat (if you have one), plus a description of what you want. Include frame clearance requirements if you have specific mounting constraints.
Quote & Confirm Materials
We confirm dimensions, materials, hardware, and pricing. If you're supplying your own hardware or buckles, we'll confirm what ships to us and what we source on our end.
We Build to Spec
Build timeline depends on complexity and current shop load. We give you a realistic estimate upfront — not an optimistic one. You'll know when to expect tracking before we start.
Ships Back Complete
Finished bags ship fully assembled with all hardware attached, ready to mount. We send photos before shipping so you can confirm everything looks right before it leaves the shop.
Common Questions
Can you match my existing seat?
Yes. Bring the seat in or send photos and we'll source materials as close as possible. For the tightest match — same thread color, same material batch — having the seat and bags in the shop at the same time is ideal. If your seat was built elsewhere, bring it in and we'll work from what's in front of us.
Can you build bags to fit a specific frame or mounting system?
Yes. Give us your measurements and clearance requirements — or bring the bike in — and we build to fit. We don't carry standard sizes. Every project starts with your bike's actual geometry, not a template.
Do you work with customer-supplied leather or hardware?
In most cases, yes. Let us know what you're bringing in before the project starts and we'll confirm it works for the build you have in mind. If you have specific buckles, D-rings, or zippers you want used, tell us early so we can account for them in the spec.
How long does a custom saddle bag build take?
Depends on complexity and current shop load. Simple builds move faster than projects with heavy tooling, multiple closures, or complex stitching patterns. We'll give you a realistic timeline at the quote stage. If you have a hard deadline — a rally, an event, a delivery date — tell us upfront and we'll tell you honestly whether it's achievable.
What does a custom saddle bag cost?
Pricing depends on material choice, bag size, closure complexity, and any tooling, embossing, or special hardware involved. Contact us for a quote — we'll give you a number once we understand the project. Call (817) 623-0589 or use the contact form below.
Do you ship finished bags?
Yes. We build and ship nationwide. Finished bags are fully assembled with all hardware attached, ready to mount when they arrive. We send photos before shipping for your approval so nothing leaves the shop without sign-off.
What's the difference between leather and vinyl for saddle bags?
Leather develops character over time, feels more traditional, and holds up for years with proper care. It requires maintenance and isn't naturally waterproof. Vinyl is waterproof from day one, comes in a far wider range of colors and textures, and is the right call if you ride in weather or want a specific look that's hard to achieve in natural leather. Both hold up well to Texas conditions when sourced correctly.
Can I get a seat and bags built at the same time?
Yes, and we recommend it for the best material match. A combined seat + bags commission means both are cut from the same material batch, stitched with the same thread, and finished with matching hardware. One consult, one timeline. See the matching sets section above for more detail.
